Juani Scholtz is a children’s book illustrator based in South Africa. They received their BA in Visual Communications Design and later pursued a High Certificate in 3D animation and Visual effects. Their biggest drive is their own childhood, often wondering what tiny Juani would do in certain situations. Juani's art is described as painterly with a touch of magic, where they incorporate traditional textures and techniques into their digital work using Photoshop.

In 2022, Juani collaborated with a local celebrity on a picture book that they are currently working hard to publish. Juani joined SCBWI in 2023, where they had the opportunity to meet and connect with many wonderful illustrators living in South Africa.
